M & J Ballantyne was established over eighty years ago and have a reputation for the highest quality of design and craftsmanship.

Michael Ballantyne, grandson of the founder of the company is now at the helm of M & J Ballantyne. Michael follows in the footsteps of his father, Kenneth, who in 1970 took over the business from his father and grew it from strength to strength.

The firm has undertaken many varied contracts, as well as a house builder in the Scottish Borders, the firm can lay claim to the development or refurbishment of much of modern Kelso and the surrounding area; including the swimming pool, Edenside and Broomlands Primary Schools, Kelso Health Centres (original building and modern day extension), Abbotsford House conservation (Sir Walter Scotts home), Dewars Lane Granary Berwick-Upon-Tweed, The National Library of Scotland external refurbishment and various local authority and housing association developments.
